Roddy’s House is the heart of AW’s educational programming, created in honor of our friend, collaborator, and former company member, Rod Durham. More than a tribute, it reflects the spirit Rod brought to everything he touched: his empathy, his generosity, and his deep belief in the transformative power of storytelling.
We look forward to filling Roddy’s House with educational opportunities for all ages, and we can’t wait to share what we have in store. Artist’s Workshop believes in bringing the art to you—in person, online, and around the world.

More than twenty years ago, Rod and Artistic Director Jimmy Kontos began AW’s educational work together. Watching Rod teach was a gift, it was always very clear that it was never just about theatre – it was about human connection, building courage, and giving people the tools and opportunities to tell their own stories.
Rod stoked his own love for the arts by dedicating himself to igniting that same spark in others.
We promise to keep that fire burning.
